The joint has sliding (2) and transition (3) parts. The sliding part is held by the bar when fitted onto it and is longer than the distance to the end of the bus bar section (1) to be connected. The transition part can be connected to the sliding part and both the sliding part and the transition part are of electrically insulating material. The transition part is at least partly between the ends of the bus bar sections in the attached state.
