The invention relates to a sensor comprising the following: a sensor element (1) with two electric contact surfaces (2), for detecting a physical variable and a sensor body (3), on one end of which the sensor element (1) and on the other end of which a contact carrier (4) is located, said contact carrier (4) supporting at least two insulation displacement contacts (5), which are suitable for producing an insulation displacement connection (6) to an electric connecting cable (7), whereby in said connection each contact surface (2) is connected to an insulation displacement contact (5). The invention also relates to a sensor assembly. The combination of the insulation displacement connection and the sensor allows the sensor and the cable tree of, for example, a motor vehicle to be contacted in a simple manner.
