Production of conjugated diene homopolymers or copolymers with vinylaromatics by anionic polymerization in an organic solvent in the presence of an organolithium compound comprises using one or more of 21 kinds of compounds as microstructure regulators and randomizers. Production of conjugated diene homopolymers or copolymers with vinylaromatics by anionic polymerization in an organic solvent in the presence of an organotithium compound comprises using one or more compounds of formula (I)-(XXI) as microstructure regulators and randomizers: R1, R2, R5 = 1-4C alkyl, except that R1 and R2 = 1-6C alkyl in (VII), R1 = 1-6C alkyl in (VIII) and H or 1-6C alkyl in (IX); R3, R4 = H or 1-6C alkyl; R = 1-6C alkyl in (III) (XX) and (XXI), H or 1-6C alkyl in (IV), H or 1-4C alkyl in (V)-(IX), (XIII), (XIV), (XVI); x = 0, 1 or 2, but not 2 in (VIII); n = 3 or 4; X = O or CH2; Y = CH2 or C2H4; X', Y' = OR or N(R)2, but not both N(R)2; X'', Y'', Z'' = OR or N(R)2. An Independent claim is also included for polymers produced by the above process.
