A process for producing building components, especially floor tiles, comprises forming a laminate which consists of a carrier and a decorative paper impregnated with a duroplastic, and a layer on the back. The decorative paper has the plastic applied to it in powder form, and the paper is then heated to 100-160 deg C and pressed. The paper is printed immediately before the plastic is applied. Abrasive particle are scattered onto the paper along with the plastic. The duroplastic is a urea-formaldehyde resin solution, and the carrier consists of an elastic material.
