The present invention a banded clip comprises: a) a U shaped clip including a front leg and a rear leg adapted for resiliently biassing items between a gap in said legs; b) a band of thin sheet foldable material wrapped around said clip such that said gap remaining operable to resiliently bias items between said legs covered with said band; c) a device for locking including a front stop and a rear stop for abutting with an end of said retaining legs thereby locking said band onto said clip; and d) wherein said band adapted to display indicia printed externally thereon. Preferably said band including a front face plane and a rear face plane externally adjacent and parallel to said clip legs, and further including front and rea r inner planes internally adjacent and parallel to said clip legs wherein said face and inn er planes all connected together with folds in said band. Preferably further including internal front and rear retaining legs extending from one distal end of said inner planes operably interacting with said locking means for locking said band onto said clip.
