The invention relates to mechanical engineering, more specifically to braking governors and can be used for braking devices of transport means provided with a pneumatic actuator and a cam-operated brake. The inventive braking governor for a transport means comprises a body and a worm gear arranged therein and consisted of a worm wheel and a worm, a screw gear whose gear wheel is arranged coaxially with respect to the worm of the worm gear, cinematically connected thereto by means of a spring-loaded retainer and prevented from an axial displacement with the aid of a thread bush. Said braking governor also comprises a lock-control element embodied in the form of a cylindrical rod which is disposed in said bush and connected to the lock in such a way that it possible to transmit rotation thereto. Graded slots are embodied on the ends of the worm of worm gear and the gear wheel of the thread gear oriented to each other. Said graded slots are open on the side of the larger base, the lateral surfaces thereof being tilted with respect to the axis of the worm at an angle higher that the angle of friction. At least two pins are embodied on the lock which is mounted in such a way that said pins are disposed in the slots of the worm and the gear wheel.
