The invention concerns a compact pressurized water nuclear reactor comprising a primary circuit integrated in the reactor vessel (10). Thus, a single steam generator (12) forms the lid of the vessel (10) and the pressurizer (30) as well as the primary pumps (28) are housed in the vessel (10); so too are the control rods (40). Finally, a venturi system (44) is also provided in the vessel (10) to circulate water in the vessel (10) in case the primary pumps (28) break down.
