<p>An electron gun for a color cathode ray tube is presented wherein the keyhole shaped penetrating hole of electron beam is formed on the sixth grid electrode which is a divergent electrode, and an electron beam penetrating hole in the shape of a concave lens, which is a rectangular shape with longer perpendicular lines and of which both longitudinal sides are rounded toward the inner center, is formed on the fifth grid electrode which is a convergent electrode. The shorter the radius of the rounded portion in the left and right sides of the electron beam penetrating hole is, the greater the effect of quadrupole lens becomes. Uniform electron beam spots are formed on the fluorescent screen of the electron gun and the resolution is improved.</p> |
