<p>It is intended to provide an antigenic protein originating in testis which has an immune induction activity comparable to a glioma antigen and is applicable to the diagnosis and treatment of glioma, a gene encoding the same, etc. A λ phage cDNA library, which is constructed by extracting the whole RNA from testis, synthesizing cDNA, transferring the cDNA into a λ phage vector and thus infecting Escherichia coil, is reacted with serum of a patient suffering from glioma. Using a labeled anti-IgG antibody, positive clones in which the antibody in the serum has reacted are detected. The thus detected positive clones are further screened several times and an antigen is isolated from clones having reactivity with the antibody. Next, serum screening is carried out with the use of the thus isolated antigen, the serum of a patient with glioma, the serum of a normal subject and so on. Thus, an antigenic protein originating in testis which has an immune induction activity comparable to a glioma antigen and is applicable to the diagnosis and treatment of glioma, a gene encoding the same, etc. are prepared.</p> |
