Method of monitoring the catalytic activity of a catalytic converter

The catalytic activity checking method uses a temperature sensor positioned within or after the catalyzer, for detecting the temperature characteristic after cold-starting of the automobile engine until a temperature plateau is reached, with comparison of the length of the temperature plateau with the length of a temperature plateau for a new catalyzer.
