Production of a carbon dioxide-containing gas mixture (I), as exhaust gas from a stationary gas-fueled internal combustion engine, involves operating the engine at an air index lambda of 0.95-10.0, catalytically reducing nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas and supplying pressurized air and catalytically reducing carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
