In an ink supply apparatus for a printing press the ink supply from an ink fountain 12 to an ink fountain roller 14 is controlled by regulating a gap between ink blades 15 and the ink fountain roller. First seal members 18 are interposed between side portions (13a) of an integral type ink tray 13 and side plates (12a) of the fountain located on either side of the ink blades. A second seal member 19 is provided between the ink blades and the bottom portion 13b of the ink tray and in slidable contact with the ink blades, for example at a step portion 21a thereof. The bottom portion covers portions of the upper faces of the ink blades excluding the distal end portions thereof. The arrangement including the seals 18, 19 acts to prevent or reduce ink movement beyond the ends of the ink blades, thereby avoiding malfunction of the ink blades and reducing cleaning requirements.. Seals 18 and 19 may be one continuous member. <IMAGE>
