PURPOSE: To obtain an ink comprising a specific anion-containing dyestuff, an amino acid type polyamine or polyethyleneimine, and water, useful for ink jet recording corresponding to plain paper, and excellent in storability and the water resistance of printed products. CONSTITUTION: The ink comprises (A) an anion-containing dyestuff comprising a metal-free azo dyestuff (preferably direct yellow 8) or a metal-containing azo dyestuff in which an aninonic group does not exist at the ortho position based on the azo group but exists at positions except the ortho position and further in which an aromatic ring comprising a benzene ring or naphthalene ring is bound to the azo bond, (B) an amino acid type polyamine (preferably having 10 or more carbon atoms) or a >=7N polyethyleneimine (preferably having a mol.wt. of 300-100000), and (C) water. The component B is preferably used in an amount of 0.01-10wt.% based on the whole amount of the ink. And the components A and C are usually used in amounts of 0.1-10wt.% and 40-96wt.%, respectively, based on the whole amount of the ink. |
