PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic silicon compound with a phosphonic acid group, which is useful as a metal ion scavenger. SOLUTION: The organic silicon compound is represented by formula (1) [wherein X is independently selected from the group consisting of a halogen, a 1-20C oxyalkyl group, an oxyaryl group, a tris (1-20C alkyl) silylether group, and a triaryl silylether group. m is 1 or 2. V is selected from the group consisting of an alkylene group, a cycloalkylene group, a phenylene group, an ether group, a thioether group, a sulfonyl group, an amino group, an ester group, and an amide group. R' is hydrogen or a monohydric hydrocarbon group. Y is selected from a halogen atom, a 1-20C oxyalkyl group, and a hydroxyl group.
