WOOD PRESERVING AGENT AND METHOD FOR TREATING WOOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood preserving agent improved in injecting property to woods which are slightly injectable, e.g. Japanese larch and Douglas fir and further fixing property. SOLUTION: This wood preserving agent comprises a wood preservative having wood antiseptic function and/or insect-proof function and one or more kinds of alkylene glycol-based quaternary ammonium compounds represented by formula (I) (wherein the symbols are as mentioned in the specification). (1) One or more kinds of antimicrobials selected from a group consisting of an azole-based antimicrobial agent, 3-phenolpyrrol-based antimicrobial agent and isothiazolone-based antimicrobial agent, (2) a boron-based compound, (3) a metallic compound releasing an antibiological metal ion (e.g. Cu2+or Zn2+) or (4) an quaternary ammonium compound other than the compound represented by formula (I) having antiseptic property is used as the wood preservative and as necessary, a phenolic compound for increasing fixing property of wood preserving agent component to the wood is combinedly used.
