PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare catalytic soln. for production of carbonic diester having high selectivity and low corrosiveness, to provide a method for regenerating the catalytic soln. and to produce carbonic diester with the catalytic soln. SOLUTION: Alcohol is allowed to react with carbon monoxide and oxygen in a catalytic soln. consisting of a copper compd., a cyclic nitrogen compd. and a glycol ether represented by the formula R<1> O[CH(R<2> )CH2 O]n R<3> [where R<1> is a 1-6C alkyl, R<2> is a 1-2C alkyl or H, R<3> is a 1-6C alkyl or H and (n) is an integer of 1-12] to produce a reactional product soln., carbonic diester is separated from the reactional product soln. and the remaining catalytic soln. having reduced activity is regenerated by bringing carbon monoxide into contact with the soln. |
