PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold accumulating air conditioner for a vehicle, in which the quantity of accumulated cold in a cold accumulator during the operation of the vehicle engine can be calculated accurately. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner for the vehicle, the cold accumulator cooled by a cooling wind passed through an evaporator is arranged on the downstream of the airflow to the evaporator, and blow-out air to the vehicle interior is cooled by the quantity of accumulated cold in the cold accumulator when the vehicle engine is stopped. The cold accumulator has a cold accumulating material, which is cooled and frozen by the cooling wind passed through the evaporator. When the vehicle engine is operating, a cold accumulating time, during which the temperature of the cold accumulator is below the freezing point of the cold accumulating material, is measured, and the quantity of accumulated cold of the cold accumulating material is calculated based on information at least including the cold accumulating time and the volume of cooling wind (step S50).
