PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive high quality imaging apparatus in which unevenness of image is suppressed by performing highly efficient feed regulation work through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: In the feed regulation method of an imaging apparatus, a split print system comprises a recording head arranged with a plurality of recording elements consisting of N (odd) normal image recording elements and a feed regulation image recording element arranged at (N+1)th, a recording head mounting section, and a recording material carrying section. A first print formed by a normal image recording element located as a specified position at the time of first scanning is recorded at a position on a recording material shifted in the main scanning direction from a second print formed by a feed regulation image recording element at the time of (P+1) the scanning, where P is the minimum number of times of scanning of the recording head required for completing a print.
