<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head lamp system for a vehicle which can avoid a frequent repetition of turning on/off of additionally turned on lamps while a steering wheel is operated. <P>SOLUTION: For this head lamp system for a vehicle, additionally turned on lamps 4 and 5 which additionally illuminate the front side in the vehicle advancing direction when running at a curve are provided on the front surface of the vehicle. Such a head lamp system for a vehicle is equipped with a steering wheel operation steering angle-detecting section 8, a computation-control unit 7, and driving circuit sections 12 and 13. In this case, the detecting section 8 outputs a detection signal based on the operation of the steering wheel. The unit 7 has a turning on/off-judging means, which computes the steering angle and the operating direction of the steering wheel when the detection signal K1 is input. Also, the turning on/off-judging means outputs such a control result that by comparing the steering angle of the steering wheel and a turning-on starting judgement reference steering angle, and when the steering angle exceeds the above reference steering angle, the additionally turned on lamps 4 and 5 may be turned on. At the same time, the turning on/off-judging means outputs such a control result that by comparing the steering angle of the steering wheel and a turning-off starting judgement reference steering angle, and when the steering angle is less than the turning-off starting judgement reference steering angle, the additionally turned on lamps may be turned off. The driving circuit sections 12 and 13 are used to turn on/off of the additionally turned on lamps 4 and 5 based on the control result when the control result by the unit 7 is input.
