PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a herbicide having improved herbicidal effect and broad herbicidal spectrum and free from phytotoxicity to crops. SOLUTION: The herbicide composition contains a compound of formula (I) [Z is a halogen atom or cyano group; A is O or NH; R<SP>1</SP>is hydroxy group, a 1-7C alkoxy or a 1-7C alkylamino; and R<SP>2</SP>is H or methyl) and one or more compounds selected from (RS)-5-ethyl-2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2- yl)nicotinic acid and 2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)-5-methoxy= methylnicotinic acid as active components.
