<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the seating situation of an occupant on a seat by generating a very weak electric field around a plurality of antenna electrodes disposed in the seat so as to be separated, and detecting an electric field generated around a specified antenna electrode selected by a switching circuit from the plurality of antenna electrodes. SOLUTION: The amplitude of a high-frequency low voltage transmitted from a control unit 10 is detected, determination is made as to whether the detected voltage amplitude is equal to a specified amplitude value or not, and a transmission signal having a fixed voltage amplitude is supplied through a switching circuit and a connector to a plurality of antenna electrodes 4 (4a to 4d) symmetrically disposed in the seating part of a seat 1 so as to be separated. Thus, a very weak electric field is generated around the antenna electrodes 4. Then, a current having a different value is detected by a current detecting circuit according to the seating posture or the like of an occupant taking the seat 1, and outputted to a control circuit. A seating situation on the seat 1 is accurately detected based on the detecting signal thereof, and the operation of an air bag device or the like is controlled.</p> |
