PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method in which a fixing time can be shortened by suppressing deterioration of recording with first ink (black ink) of low permeability. SOLUTION: At the time of recording by using a first ink (black ink) having a specified permeability and a second ink (color ink) having a permeability higher than the specified permeability, a decision is made whether the second ink is imparted to a specified area of a recording medium being imparted with the first ink or not based on the imparting state of the first ink to the specified area. More specifically, black ink and color ink are ejected while being overlapped if the ejection duty of black ink is high for the specified area. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
