<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a sheet conveying direction while stably conveying a sheet without applying stress to the sheet. <P>SOLUTION: In this sheet conveying device with the prescribed number of conveying members 2 disposed in a sheet conveying path 1, at least a part of the conveying members 2 is a plural direction conveying member 4 variably setting the conveying direction of the sheet in a plurality of directions. As the plural direction conveying member 4, at least one of a driving conveying member 5 and a driven conveying member 6 is swingably supported along the nip face direction of the sheet, and the nip region of the plural direction conveying member 4 is set downstream of a swing fulcrum 7 in the conveying direction of the sheet 3. To perform direction changeover control of the plural direction conveying member 4, a conveying direction changeover device 8 is provided for changing the conveying direction of the sheet at prescribed timing by the plural direction conveying member 4, or a guide member 9 is provided for regulating the side position of the sheet 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
