<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily recoverable packaging material which has an impact-absorbing packaging function and is composed of a plastic foam sheet formed of a large number of closed air chambers formed through the lamination of a cap sheet having a large number of caps by vacuum forming of a plastic sheet, and a flat back sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The packaging material comprises a structure member (1) and an impact-absorbing member (2). The structure member (1) is provided with two structure portions (11, 12) which are defined by two parallel folding lines (3, 3') that are closely located to each other on the center of the rectangular foam sheet having rigidity. The impact-absorbing member (2) comprises two impact-absorbing portions (2A, 2B) which extend outwardly and inwardly from the side edge of one of the structure portions of the soft foam sheet and two impact-absorbing portions (2C, 2D) which extend outwardly from the upper and lower edges of the two structure portions (11, 12).
