PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a spindle and a related bearing at the use location of the machine tool concerned in a short period of time, when the spindle equipment breaks down. SOLUTION: A housing 5 for the top of a main shaft is divided into a front portion housing 23 and a rear portion housing 25, with both housings connected through a bolt 27. To the front portion housing 23, the main shaft 7 is fitted through a front bearing 9, while the main shaft 7 is equipped with a rotor 43, a built-in motor bearing case 33 connected through a rear bearing 11, and a draw bar 51, designed to clamp the tool, in an arrangement to jointly compose a front housing unit 93. The replacement of the main shaft and the bearing is implemented by exchanging the entire front housing unit 93. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
