PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray diagnostic equipment which can eliminate inconvenience for an X-ray technician in terms of the setting of a lighting field, can shorten examination time, and can reduce the amount of exposure of a subject to an X-ray, by automatically setting the shapes, sizes, number, or the like, of the lighting fields. SOLUTION: After a whole-body image of the subject is obtained by using thermography 8, data on a contour of the subject are extracted in a contour extracting part 6-1. A lighting field setting part 6-3 performs processing for associating the data on the contour with data on current positions of an X-ray tube 3 and a detector 5, which are detected in a position detecting part 6-2, and performs processing for comparing/conforming the data on the contour with/to human-body model data 9-1 which are called up from a storage part 9. Thus, a positional relationship between the X-ray tube 3 and the detector 5, and a region of interest in the subject is specified so that the automatic setting (the setting of the shapes, sizes, number, positions, or the like) of the lighting fields suitable for the regions of the interest, existing in movement positions of the X-ray tube 3 and the detector 5, can be performed while corresponding to the movement positions of them.
