PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for achieving a narrower outer diameter of the forefront of an endoscope while taking into consideration the size of an electronicized section thereof. SOLUTION: A photographic image unit 10 is equipped to the forefront of the endoscope and composed of an object lens unit 21, a CCD holder 10a, an electronicized section 10b, a composite cable 35, and the like. In the photographic unit 10, a CCD holder frame 23 and an engaging section of a first metal frame 24 are made smaller than the outer diameter of the object lens unit 21, and a second metal frame 25 that protects electronic parts such as a transistor 27, and a chip condenser 28 is made larger than the CCD holder frame 23, and since a fixation hole 20 of the forefront body 6 is formed so as to house the object lens unit 21, the CCD holder frame 23 and the first metal frame 24 in a protruded state of the second metal frame 25, the narrower outer diameter of the forefront 1 of the endoscope can be realized while taking into consideration the size of the section electronicized by the electronic parts.
