Process for the preparation of ultra-pure macro-porous silica gel

Disclosed is a process for widening of the pores of meso-porous silica gel with the pores diameter 6 to 12 nm to the diameter size 15 to 50 nm by combined effect of the water and ammonium hydroxide, which does not contain the metal ions with concentration 2 to 26 wt. %, during 1 to 5 hours under the temperatures 150 to 200 °C. From the initial ultra-pure material (type B) the macro-porous silica gel of the same purity without bringing the metal ions in its matrix is obtained.
