PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the sure fixation of a braking shoe in a lever brake type spinning reel. SOLUTION: The brake lever 17 of the lever brake type spinning reel has an operation portion swingably mounted on a reel main body 2 and operated with a hand at one end, the braking operation portion 17b to be contacted with or separated from a braking cylinder 40 at the other end, and the second braking shoe 34 detachably attached to the braking action portion 17b. The second braking shoe 34 has one or more elastically held nail portions 34b, is fixed to the braking action portion 17b, and is brought into contact with the braking cylinder 40 to brake a rotor 3 by the swinging operation of the braking lever 17.
