PURPOSE: A method for processing the relocation of an SRNS(Serving Radio Network Subsystem) between SGSNs(Serving GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) Support Nodes) is provided to enable a new SGSN to request a relocation cancel from an old SGSN and enable the old SGSN to request the relocation cancel from a source RNC(Radio access Network Controller) in case that an SRNS relocation process procedure fails in the new SGSN. CONSTITUTION: If an SRNS relocation process procedure fails in a new SGSN(30) after completing a resource assignment procedure for SRNS relocation(S56), the new SGSN(30) transmits a relocation cancel request message to an old SGSN(20) for requesting relocation cancel(S58). The new SGSN(30) receives a response message about the relocation cancel request message from the old SGSN(20) and releases resources assigned for the SRNS relocation(S64). The old SGSN(20) receives the relocation cancel request from the new SGSN(30), and requests the relocation cancel to a source RNC(10)(S60) for releasing the resources assigned for the SRNS relocation(S62). |
