Exchange sluice for use in medical therapy is a tube of approximately 5 cm diameter of transparent, flexible plastic, with a length of ten to 15 cm and running conically to one edge, being enclosed by a hollow sheath around a conduit fitted in a human body. To the other edge the tube also runs conically and with the aid of a hollow sheath can be closed around a ''body-external'' provision. A valve is fitted to the tube, enabling a vacuum to be created in the sluice, afater which a sterilizing gas can be introduced into it.
