PURPOSE: A monitor capable of realizing a sub-screen and a double window is provided to display a video signal on a basic screen on which a video signal transmitted from a PC so as to offer various images to a user. CONSTITUTION: A monitor capable of realizing a sub-screen and a double window includes the first format converter(100), the second format converter(200), and a multiplexer(300). The first format converter converts a predetermined color signal and a luminance signal into signals capable of being displayed on a flat-panel device(400) of the monitor, and outputs horizontal/vertical synchronous signals, a data enable signal and a clock signal to the flat-panel device to produce a main screen on which the converted color signal is displayed. The second format converter converts a predetermined color signal and a luminance signal into signals capable of being displayed on the flat-panel device, outputs the converted color signal and data enable signal synchronized with the synchronous signals and clock signal output from the first format converter, and controls the level of the data enable signal to vary the size of a sub-screen of the flat-panel device. The multiplexer switches the color signal output from the first or second format converter according as the data enable signal is output from the second format converter or not.
