PURPOSE: An apparatus for lifting the hot coil out of the pickling tank is provided to prevent the hot coil from being corroded and reduce time taking for reactivating the pickling tank by lifting the hot coil out of the pickling tank when the pickling tank stop operating unwantedly. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a pair of vertical frames(34) arranged outside a pickling tank, a cross frame(39) interconnected between the vertical frames(34) for sliding up and down along the vertical frames(34), a horizontal beam(40) horizontally extended from the cross frame(39), a rotary arm having a vertical arm rotatably extended from the horizontal beam(40) and a horizontal arm perpendicularly connected at a lower end of the vertical arm, a first driving means for rotating the rotary arm so as to locate the horizontal arm at standby position in parallel with one side of the pickling tank and to vertically locate the horizontal arm at a working position, and a second driving means for sliding the cross frame(39) up and down.
