PURPOSE: A rubber composition for tire treads having excellent wear resistance and improved heat generating resistance and chip-cut resistance which can be used in tires for paved or unpaved road, ORT and TBR is provided. CONSTITUTION: The rubber composition comprises a base rubber containing a natural rubber alone or together with a butadiene rubber, carbon black as a reinforcing agent and other conventional additives. The rubber composition is characterized in that the carbon black is surface-modified and has CTAB specific surface area of 120 to 160 m2/g, IA adsorption of 120 to 170 mg/g, DBP oil absorption of 70 to 130 ml/100g, CDBP oil absorption of 60 to 110 ml/100g, STSA specific surface area of 120 to 160 m2/g, N2SA specific surface area of 130 to 170 m2/g and tint coloring value of 120 to 150%. In addition, the carbon black is contained in the amount of 30 to 90 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the base rubber. |
