PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same are provided to enable a pixel voltage to reach a target voltage level immediately by correcting a data voltage and applying the corrected data voltage to pixels, thereby improving the response speed of liquid crystal without changing the panel structure of TFT LCD. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes an LCD panel(100), a gate driving part(200) for supplying scanning signals to gate lines in sequence, a data gray level signal correcting part(400) for receiving gray level signals from data gray level signal sources and outputting corrected gray level signals comparing gray level signals of a current frame and a previous frame according to a correction coefficient input from the outside, and a data driving part(300) for converting the corrected gray level signal to a data voltage and supplying the data voltage to data lines. The correction coefficient is at least one of temperature, screen quality selected by the taste of a user, and environment of the LCD use.
