PURPOSE: A collect call service system according to the setup condition of a user and a method therefor are provided to offer a collect call service according to the selection of a telephone subscriber without changing a telephone number and automatically offer the collect call service only when the selection of the telephone subscriber corresponds to a limited condition. CONSTITUTION: If a channel is connected between a switch and a sender, a control unit of the switch judges whether a telephone call requested from the sender corresponds to a collect call(502). If the telephone call requested from the sender corresponds to the collect call, the control unit judges whether a telephone number of the sender is included in telephone numbers of a control area of a recipient-side switch(504). If the telephone number of the sender is included in the telephone numbers of the control area of the recipient-side switch, the control unit exactly calculates a call charge so that a recipient pays the call charge and the sender does not pay the call charge(505).
