METHOD FOR INPUTTING CHARACTERS IN DIGITAL INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A method for inputting characters in a digital information processing device is provided to input alphabets twice in a figure shape to be visually perceivable without moving a cursor, thereby reducing alphabets input time and frequencies. CONSTITUTION: The first key is inputted through a keypad, wherein the keypad has keys to which 10 basic figures extracted by analyzing shapes of alphabets "a" to "z" are assigned(S301). The second key is inputted through the keypad(S302). Whether the combination of the first and second keys corresponds to one of the alphabets(S303). If so, a corresponding alphabet is decided as the first alphabet(S304). The second key is inputted through the keypad(S305). Alphabets capable of being inputted by following the first alphabet are searched(S306). Alphabets capable of being inputted by the third key are searched among the alphabets searched in the step S306(S307). If the number of the searched alphabets is only one, the searched alphabet is decided as the second alphabet. If at least one character corresponding to the combination of the first and second alphabets exists, the character is displayed.
