PURPOSE: A discharge valve device of a hermetic compressor is provided to smoothly perform the opening and shutting actions of the discharge valve device, reduce noise, and improve efficiency of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A discharge valve device of a hermetic compressor comprises a valve plate(20) forming a suction hole and a discharge hole(24) communicated with the inside of a compression chamber; a discharge valve(30); a valve spring(40) disposed to the upper part of the discharge valve; and a retainer(50) fixing the discharge valve and the valve spring to the valve plate. In the discharge valve, one end is fixed to the valve plate and a free end part(32) opens and shuts the discharge hole. The valve spring controls the opening degree of the discharge valve. In the valve spring, one end opposite to the discharge is fixed to the valve plate and a free end part is extended toward the fixed end of the discharge valve. An elastic member is installed to the valve plate, to supply elastic force in a direction in which the discharge valve opens the discharge hole.
