摘要 PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing carbon steel wire rods for tire cord is provided to control a mass flux ratio appropriately so as to fabricate a high carbon steel for tire cord without cracking of the surface of the work material. CONSTITUTION: In the method for manufacturing carbon steel wire rods for tire cord, a billet heated in the heating furnace is rolled through a wire rod rolling process including a roughing mill, an intermediate roughing mill, and a finishing mill so as to be produced as a wire rod. A mass flux ratio at each stand along the roughing mill and the intermediate roughing mill through which the surface temperature of the billet which is heated in the heating furnace decreases is controlled such that the mass flux ratio is in the range of 0.95 to 0.98. The mass flux ratio is defined by a formula: mass flux ratio=(mass flux amount)n+1/(mass flux amount)n, where N is a sequence number of stand. In the present invention, the pass schedule is set optimally, wire cords can be produced in high quality without cracking on the surface.
