PURPOSE: A recording/reproducing system and a method for controlling the system are provided to correct various errors generated when information is recorded on an optical disk or reproduced from the optical disk. CONSTITUTION: A wobble signal recorded on a wobble track of a disk is detected(1901). The attribute of the detected wobble signal is extracted(1902). An error correction signal for removing an error component generated when information is recorded on the disk or reproduce from the disk is generated on the basis of the extracted attributes of the wobble signal(1903). The step of extracting the attributes of the wobble signal extracts one of jitter, error rate, amplitude, envelope and peak value.
