PURPOSE: A container management method at a shipping terminal is provided to search for a container shipment position, to load the container at the searched position, to display the container shipment position with a designated color in a case of shipping a container, to unload a container at a position, to display the container position with a designated color in a case of unloading a container. CONSTITUTION: A position data management database is constructed(S100). A shipment data management database is also constructed with the shipment data including data on a ship, a shipping date, a shipping port, a destination port, and data on each container(S102). A manager inputs shipment data(S104). A CPU searches for position data in the position data management database corresponding to the input shipment data(S106). Then, the CPU outputs a shipping instruction signal for shipping a container at a searched position(S108), and generates a shipping list by using the shipment data(S109). The CPU checks whether a designated time has passed(S110). The CPU colors the shipment data with a designated color, and offers a bay plan file layout based on a shipment list and a container position within a ship(S112). The CPU checks whether a container unloading request signal is input by a manager(S114), and receives the container unloading data including an unloading place and time(S116). The CPU displays the position of the unloaded containers with a color on a monitor(S118).
