PURPOSE: A locking apparatus for a tray tailgate using a spring and a wire is provided to open and close the tailgate in one operation by using a latch, the wire and the spring. CONSTITUTION: A locking apparatus for a tray tailgate using a spring(80) and a wire(90) comprises a latch(70), the wire, the spring, and a support bracket(30). The latch is supported by the spring and is moved right and left. The wire is connected to a hinged protrusion(150) of a knob(100) to move the latch. The spring supplies locking force and supports the latch. The support bracket fixes the latch to be moved both directions when the latch is inserted. Therein, the tailgate is opened and closed with one operation.
