PURPOSE: A computer system and its control method is provided to execute a function of a screen saver, which prevents a monitor screen from being damaged in a case that an electronic beam is projected on a position for a long time with a fixed intensity, whenever a user needs the function of the screen saver. CONSTITUTION: A user selects a screen saver module on a display of a computer system(S1). A microcomputer of the display transmits the screen saver function selection signal to an operating system via a DDC(Display Data Channel) communication port and a video card(S3). A controller, for controlling the screen saver function, executes the screen saver function based on DDC communication data of the operating system(S7). If the user operates a keyboard or a mouse, the controller releases the screen saver function(S9).
