PURPOSE: A display device and a method for controlling the same are provided to quickly and simply control the screen display state such as contrast or brightness for various screen modes. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a display device including a video amplifier for amplifying image signals provided from a video card, and a display unit for receiving the image signals and displaying images, includes the steps of selecting a screen mode(S1), sensing the selected screen mode(S2), reading an amplification level corresponding to the screen mode(S5), and setting an amplification level of the video amplifier on the basis of the read amplification level(S7). |
