PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a luminous screen for a CRT is provided to remove a portion of the gaseous organic constituents during a screenbake step and remove the remaining gaseous organic constituents during a frit curing step. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method comprises a step of screening an inner surface of a face plate panel(12), thereby providing on the inner surface a screened surface having phosphor deposits and organic materials, the organic materials having at least two components with different thermal decomposition characteristics, at least some of the organic materials overlie the phosphor deposits, a step of depositing a metal layer on the organic materials, a step of removing the organic materials from the inner surface of the face plate panel by volatilizing the organic materials through heating such that volume rates of gaseous decomposition products from each of the components is less than diffusion rates of the respective gaseous decomposition products through the metal layer.
