PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear mechanism and an electric power steering device which suppresses swelling due to moisture of a tooth part comprising synthetic resin and eliminates increase of torque of a meshing part. SOLUTION: The swelling due to the moisture of the tooth part 7a is suppressed by supporting a worm wheel 7 with at least the tooth part 7a comprising synthetic resin by a rotary shaft 3, providing rolling bearings 11 and 12 for supporting the rotary shaft 3 in a housing 8 housing the worm wheel 7 on both sides of the worm wheel 7, and respectively providing sealing members 20, 21 and 22 airtightly sealing a housing area of the worm wheel 7 between the rolling bearings 11 and 12, the housing 8 and a lid member 9 closing an opening part of the housing 8. |
