PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air curtain forming device allowing the economical and easy formation of an air curtain around an existing gas range. SOLUTION: The air curtain forming device comprises an air curtain forming member 51 demountable from the peripheral edge of a kitchen range and a blower for supplying a compressed air thereto. The air curtain forming member 51 consists of a body 53 having a hollow space portion 59 inside and an opening portion 55 on the upper side and a blow hole formation part 61 mounted in the opening portion 55, communicated with the space portion 59 and provided with a plurality of blow holes 68. The compressed air from the blower is blown out of the blow holes 68 through the space portion 59 of the air curtain forming member 53. A wall face 63a on the side of the kitchen range, of wall faces of a pair of holding plates 63, 64 forming parts of the blow holes 68, has a top formed to be lower than that of the wall face 64a of the holding plate 64 on a side separating from the kitchen range. As a result, the compressed air blown out of the blow holes 68 is blown upward and spread toward the kitchen range.
