PROCESS FOR RECOVERING DICARBOXYLIC ACIDS

The invention relates to a process for recovering dicarboxylic acids resulting as waste in the preparation of adipic acid, by adding alcohols having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and water. The resulting mixture is heated up to a temperature of 40 degree C while stirring and then is treated with H2S in order to remove anorganic salts by settling. The resulting solution is heated in order to remove the free water and synthesis water as azeotrope or by vacuum distillation.
