PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplex single-core bidirectional optical transmission and reception module that does not require an optical waveguide, etc., necessary to be accurately processed and has high frequency characteristics and small optical and electric crosstalk and is low-priced. SOLUTION: A light emission part is formed which has a wavelength selective filter 2 inserted obliquely halfway into an optical fiber 1 buried in a glass substrate 3. The light emission part is fixed right above a reverse-surface incidence type light receiving element 4 mounted on a ceramic substrate 6 on a flip-chip basis and thus only a light signal of specified wavelength is received. An optical fiber excessive length part 7 between a light reception part and a light emission part is made sufficiently long and an end part of the optical fiber is optically coupled with a light emitting element. With a simple structure which eliminates the need for an optical waveguide, the optical transmission and reception mode can be realized which has small optical and electric crosstalk and a superior high frequency characteristic. |
