PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens for an optical pickup device and on optical pickup device in which a coma aberration is corrected in a well balanced manner and information is appropriately recorded and reproduced on different optical information recording media. SOLUTION: No particular problem occurs even when the coma aberration is generated for a light flux passing through an outer side optical function region of the objective lens 16 by turning the light flux passing through the outer side optical function region into a flare light, for example, when the information is recorded and/or reproduced on a compact disk (CD) with the light flux emitted from a semiconductor laser 112. The information is appropriately recorded or reproduced on a digital versatile disk (DVD) when the information is recorded and/or reproduced on the DVD with a light flux emitted from a semiconductor laser 111 because the amount of fault of sine condition at the part which is closest to the central optical function region at the outer optical function region is made smaller than the amount of fault of sine condition at the part which is closest to the outer optical function region at the central optical function region.
